Herb Meyer Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Herb Meyer Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established to award scholarships to Scholar - Athletes from El Camino and Ocenaside High Schools in Oceanside, CA.

 Herb retired following the 2003 season after 47 years of coaching (45 of which he served as head coach). Herb was one of the most highly respected interscholastic coaches in the history of the game. At the time of his retirement, Herb had more wins than any coach in the history of California High School football with 338 victories. He became the first coach in California history to win 300 games and the first to win at least 100 games at two different schools. Over his illustrious career, Herb garnered 338 victories winning 10 CIF championships.

Herb Meyer, legendary football coach at El Camino High School, Oceanside, became the first head football coach and Athletic Director at the school. He guided the Wildcats to 226 wins and eight CIF championships over 28 seasons. Before his final home game in 2003, the El Camino Football Stadium was renamed Herb Meyer Stadium in his honor. As a result, he was able to coach his final game in his stadium.

Herb passed away in April 2023.

Herb was inducted into 11 Halls of Fame as a Player, Coach and Administrator.
